Adapt to Thrive and Survive

“Be like water, my friend” – Bruce Lee

A radical idea at the time that predated the legend of the dragon and a phrase that ignited the phenomenon of mixed martial arts.  “Be like water, my friend” is a simple, yet complex statement that changed the thinking and behaviors of millions of people. Bruce Lee was a revolutionary; a forward thinker who died before his prime and has been enshrined as a legend. He understood the law of adapting on a deeper level through self-experimentation, deep personal insight, and a superior level of self-awareness.

He was a study of one and he shared his findings with the world. The public has generally accepted and adopted his methods after decades of thorough research. Bruce Lee was right, we do need to be like water and adapt to our situation. If we are a metal then we bend and break; if we are wood then we will burn and if we are a plastic then we will melt. We need to go with the flow of life and react when there is an opportunity. We need to be brave and patient during challenging times.

The future is dependent on what Earth lets us have and we will have to conform to the new changes that will occur in the future. Prosperity and enlightenment take place during times when the Earth is pleasant and happy.  Global warming is presenting a conflicting circumstance and we need to be prepared to adapt. We need to be prepared for a change in our living habits and those who do not adapt to what the Earth will allow us to have will perish.

We as individuals can accept the truth whether there has been decades of expensive research or if one person has come up with the answer. The truth is the truth. Yes we need proof, but sometimes we need to go with our instinct and enact the truth into our lives. We do not need to wait for others to give us the green light or to follow the crowd of early adopters.

Bruce Lee was a leader because he influenced people to be better. He had the courage to present his revolutionary ideas and was brave enough to enter a foreign world without knowing he would be accepted. People are doing incredible things today that the rest of the world has yet to learn about and we will learn about the value of these new ways in the future. The world is changing and there will be opportunities to present your novel ideas. Will you have the courage and bravery needed to lead out front with the whole world watching and criticizing? Will you be able to be adaptable like water and express the heart of a leader?

These abilities to lead are within us all and we all have the power to be like water. We are made mostly of water and water is our will to survive. Without water we would die. “Be like water, my friend”.

Leadership coaching is dedicated to enhancing leadership skills and abilities by enhancing the leader within and creating self-awareness. Targeting and understanding the underlying processes that dictate predictable behaviors creates a necessary awareness in alignment with reality that enables superior leadership. All leadership is not equal, but rather, fluid, flexible, and adaptive to the situation and environment. Implementing the correct developmental process proactively separates the good from the great. Our leadership coaching processes develops great leaders. However, facing perceived fears, accepting critical feedback, and managing emotional highs & lows in alignment with universal laws is required for maximizing personal and professional growth.

Everyone is capable of being a leader and that leadership begins with leading the self. The material offered goes above and beyond generic leadership content found on other leadership sites such as mission, vision, and tactics of leadership. Rather, we expand on these processes and include the real human aspect and psychological foundation of creating valued connections that by association inspire followers to exceed performance expectations. Additionally, these writings are geared to elicit behaviors that make leaders more follower-friendly, and attempt by diffusion, to refine the skills needed to lead successfully.
