The holiday season is where we show each other love and appreciation through celebration and holiday cheer.
Some express these feelings through gift giving and others express these feelings by being in service to others.
There are many gifts we could give and they all begin with our inner-self.
If we give, speak, and think from a place of goodness then our gifts are pure.
People find fault in others, but this is a projection of the self, and the externalization is not healing the existing problem.
Embrace the spirit of goodness and happiness of the season.
Americans are the most charitable people in the world and there is a reason for this fact.
Give onto others as you would want given onto yourself.
I have been a very charitable person over the course of my life and have given of myself in a variety of ways.
The returns have been extremely fulfilling and I encourage you to give.
Giving is not about money, but rather, about caring, love, respect, understanding, gratitude, sharing, honesty, and humility.
Treat others the same as you would treat yourself and if this is not positive then please take care of yourself first.
In order to have fulfilling relationships and quality in your life, you have to begin with self-love.
Loving yourself is an important first step that needs to be taken before loving others can begin.
The holidays are for reflection over the past year and developing an understanding around how the year in review went.
What are your accomplishments?
What would you have done differently?
How will you improve moving forward?
The holidays are for living in the moment and embracing the holiday spirit.
Do you have family and friends that care about you?
Do you have anyone that you strongly care about?
How will you share yourself with those you care about during this holiday season?
The holidays are for celebration and happiness.
Materialistic items fill the moment with excitement and appreciation, but these traditional gifts do not bring long term happiness.
I wish that everyone has the ability to share the gifts that everyone would want in their life, but unfortunately, this cannot always be accomplished for everyone at every time.
The alternative is long term happiness derived from the moments that are shared with those around you.
Take pictures, physically or mentally, and retain these memories of your life that will fill you with joy for eternity.
I personally, have been alone on Christmas with a small meal, a few text messages saying Merry Christmas, and a football game.
Those were learning times that I am grateful for and appreciated because I learned a lot about myself and others.
Today, I share my days with the six most important people in the world and I enjoy every minute of making these moments special and memorable for them.
I learned from my father, who passed a few years ago, that you need to live life to make memories because when you get old, you have nothing left but your memories.
I wish everyone a memory filled holiday season that is full of positive cheer and loving expression for everyone you care about.
God bless you, your family, and everyone you encounter in your life.
